Patient information
We will honest with you regarding the value of your treatment. You will be explained all possible treatment options, their value as well as their pros and cons. Together we will find a tailored solution that will improve your health and the look of your teeth.
Health questionnaire
Medical history or anamnesis (from the Greek word for “remembering”) helps the dentist treating you to better understand the state of your health. Certain pre-existing conditions or medication you take must be known to the dentist treating you so potential complications can be avoided.
You can download our health questionnaire here and you can print it off. Please bring your completed form on your first appointment. Our team will be more than happy to help you with any questions you may have.
OP Information
What to do before undergoing surgery
Should you experience pain, please refrain from taking aspirin or ASS. This is because these two inhibit blood coagulation. Ibuprofen or Dolormin can be used instead. If, due to general conditions, you must take blood thinners, please ensure that you let us know at the beginning of your treatment. After checking with your treating family doctor, internist or cardiologist you may switch to medication that is better compatible with your surgery. This is to minimise the risk of overly extensive bleeding.
What to do after undergoing surgery
- Please keep the area of the surgery cool from the outside (over the course of 3 days). You may use freezer packs for this. There are available from your local pharmacy. Alternatively you may use cold-wet compresses. Never put ice straight onto your skin.
- Please only take the medication you were prescribed by the dentist treating you.
- Please use a disinfecting mouth wash (chlorhexidine gluconate) twice a day while leaving at least seven hours between them
- Please refrain from smoking for seven days.
- Please refrain from drinking alcohol, coffee, black tea or any other acidic drinks for three days.
- Please do not consume fresh milk products (whole milk, yoghurt, cream cheese etc.).
- Please avoid eating hard food.
- You may take medication to reduce the swelling (for example Arnika).
- Have your head rest a little higher than the rest of your body, and try not to sleep on the side of your face on which surgery was performed.
